ABOUT US

Hi we're Sophie & Steve and welcome to Coco's Warren. We specialise in breeding mini lops & lion lops and are based in Somerset.

We are different from your 'typical' rabbit breeder and love standing out from the crowd. We are passionate about letting rabbits be rabbits and all our rabbits spend every day in their runs in the garden. We don't do tiny hutches or 'allotted' times for play time here - all day every day is playtime for our babies, just like it should be. At night time our buns sleep in large hutches in our rabbitry where they are safe & cosy. Our smallest hutch is 6.5 foot long and largest is 10 foot.

We stared our breeding journey because we just simply LOVE bunnies! We have owned buns for many years and they have literally taken over our lives - in a good way! We are very lucky to have a large garden and Sophie works from home so she has plenty of time to get out with the buns and watch them zoom and binky about.

Since starting our breeding journey Sophie has done a huge amount of research and courses - I love learning and when I start something new I have to know the in's & out's of it lol! Over the years I have completed courses in Animal Psychology, Pet First Aid & CPR, Animal Care, Animal Grooming and Animal Training - just to name a few! I'm also nearing the end of becoming a qualified Veterinary Nurse - yippee!!

Why breed & why should you go to a breeder? Well that's two very good questions. We breed to primarily better the breeds we own. We have spent years perfecting our bunnies types & temperaments and ironing out bad traits like tight crowns/helicopter ears for example. Of course anyone who is considering getting a bunny to join their family should check out their local rescue centres first incase the bunny of your dreams is sat waiting for a forever family to love them, but sometimes this isn't an option. Never ever go to shops and buy bunnies! Buns that are in shops for sale have most likely been inbred, have or will have health issues surface with the most common being malocclusion, have been kept in appalling conditions/breeding factories etc and are mostly mixed breed. So if your local rescue centre can't help you then visit a breeder. A breeder will be able to guarantee you the breed, can tell you all about parents & grandparents and probably even further back down the generations, will sell you a bunny that is in good health and fit for sale and can give you any information you would like on your new addition or anything else you may want to know.

So that's a little about us and our ethics, let's move on to the next chapter - Our Furry Family
